Airdrie Cornerstone
Our client had big ambitions of rezoning a home in downtown Airdrie to be the new site of her chiropractic clinic and to attract other health-centred businesses to the area.
This two-story commercial project on Main Street set out to contribute to the revitalization of the downtown area while remaining sensitive to the residential neighbourhoods nearby. Extensive public and private consultation informed the process, allowing us to craft a building plan that would fit seamlessly into the community.
Space was built-in around the structure to avoid the feeling of crowding, and height considerations mean neighbouring homes won’t be cast in shadow. The palette creates a cohesive feeling to the rest of downtown with two-tone stucco walls and rich cherrywood details throughout.
A small public plaza in front of the building with plantings, street furniture, signage, and festive ground coverings complete the goal of making this a truly community-centred building. Underground and grade-level parking will be available to staff and patrons.
